Define ancestors. I have no ancestors who owned slaves. My ancestors were dirt poor farmers themselves. I do not feel any shame for what White plantation owners did. On the other hand, I do feel shame for the police brutality and wanton killing of Black citizens that happens today, because I feel that, by not being able to end it, I am in some way part of it.
