Good story, well written. And you are right for the most part. You do a good job of not blaming men per se, but one gets the general impression it is only men trying to revive this prehistoric system. Yet more than half of White women voters voted for tRump, and by proxy the system you are decrying.

There is a theme that White people are responsible for racism, therefore they should be responsible for ending it. Fine, I don't necessarily agree but it is a solid point. But it's not quite the same with sexism, as women hold the same relative voting power as men (ignoring the skewed voting power of the very rich, which is another story). If women decided to end this system, they could accomplish it, they could force the changes if they had the will. But they are not enough on the same page.
