Great info. It is striking to me that we devote so much public and private capital to exploring a couple of nearby rocks, when our own rock is dying. If we devoted our energies to managing this planet properly rather than gathering as much of the planet's resources for the pleasure of a few, there would be plenty of time to explore the universe. As it is, we will probably find evidence of previous forms of life on Mars, indicating that it supported life then died out, while at the same time watch our own planet die out, perhaps the same way Mars did.
