I am a cis and straight man, and I would love to help your cause. But I am less enthusiastic than is needed because you keep insulting me. Same with racism - whenever I feel like I need to get more involved to end racial discrimination, someone writes and article that says I am a racist because I was born to a White mother and father. Which pisses me off. So I have other things to do, other causes to fight for.

On the trans issue, I am fully supportive and oppose all of the anti-trans legislation being perpetrated by the primitive states, except one. I disagree with you on one issue - ONE ISSUE - I oppose trans women, at least those who transitioned after puberty and/or participated in men's sports, competing with cis women in sports.

But whenever I express this, the automatic and consistent response from every trans person is to call me transphobic. This is so very wrong in multiple ways. The definiion of "phobia" is "an extreme or irrational fear of or aversion to something". I have no fear of trans women, in sports or elsewhere, and I have no aversions either. More importantly the subject of trans women in womens' sports is a very rational debate, based on scientific data and thousands of years of experience. Occasionally a trans person will try to argue their case logically, but the logic is always stretched to the limit. And Lia Thomas has made all of those arguments irrelevant.

By the way, preventing trans women from competing with cis women athletes is not discrimination. It is segregation - based on the very segregation of men and womens' sports which our society has accepted for many millenia. If we didn't segregate sports, few women would compete, and not only would women lose out on opportunities, our society would be robbed of the very entertaining world of womens' sports. We passed Title IX in America to encourage and support women athletes, as a way to increase participation in women's sports. As more men transition and compete in womens' events the value we have received from Title IX will be greatly diminished.

So opposing trans women in sports is not transphobia. But that doesn't stop the trans community from calling everyone who holds this position a transphobe. You use this term numerous times in your article. You want us to help, yet you insult us if we disagree on one point. If you want our help, you need to change your approach.
