I didn't see a comparison to land transport, other than an allusion.

And what about a hybrid, fuel for takeoff and batteries for forward motion?

Another consideration is that for a long time such cars will be very expensive, and you will likely need a special license to operate them. Which puts them into the garages of the very rich, not so much for the rest of us.

The rich already have outer space vacation tours. So the rich will be living like the Jetsons, and the rest of us will be living like the Flintstones.
