I don't know how long it took you to write this, but it is one of the best descriptions of the dilemma facing Black people in America that I have seen. Cogent, insightful, and useful.

I don't have any answers. But I want to make one point. Despite the White guilt efforts of many authors, especially on Medium, which I will no longer name, I remain committed to trying to achieve some level of racial justice, and maybe, perhaps some day, a society where I can dance with you. I don't know how that will come, but if it does come to a point of civil war, and I have to choose between my White supremacist "brethren", or minorities seeking justice, I will be on your side. If you will let me cross over. I am armed and am training, this is not idle. And one thing I have found in my life is that I am not special - when I decide on a course, it always turns out there are many like me coming to the same conclusions.

The only problem is that I am old, with little to lose, and my contributions may not be that valuable. But don't discount your potential allies. White supremacists, take this as a warning - your skin color does not make your army.
