I enjoyed the read, and clapped. But you have a funny way of writing - especially with your tenses:

"...only those who made it past the age of 20 had a decent chance of making it to that age..." Uh, yeah, because if you didn't make past the age of 20 you had zero chance of making it to 40.

"...if you were a soldier and you died, then what you had to look forward to..."

"Napoleon Bonaparte ... One thing that he perhaps wishes he was not famous for..."

Also, I just pulled up a few dozen historical pictures of cowboys, and did not see a single bowler hat. They all had hats that are more like a sombrero, but more like a Stetson than a bowler. I have read this before, but it isn't backed by visual evidence.

But it was fun facts anyway.
