If you feel blamed, shamed, or guilt-tripped by this article… it’s probably because you’re exactly the culprit it’s describing.

I rarely do back-and-forths with people, and this statement is a perfect example of why. You can’t hear what I’m saying, because you have adopted a narrative that has no room for nuance or exceptions. Everything is “black and white”, expressed in absolute language (White people, all white people …).

And I guess I am sort of jumping ship. Not the journey, I will continue to fight for racial justice and equality. Just not on your ship, I will find a ship that actually has wind in its sails.
