I've been suggesting secession for years, this kind of fits into my philosophy. I'm most concerned with the US, letting the South secede. letting Texas secede, letting the West coast secede. When I first started slipping this into comments about 10 years ago, I invariably would be slammed as heretical. Lately there has been very little opprobrium.

Hundreds of separate city-states seems like a nightmare for interstate commerce. But I believe problems can always be worked out.

I also believe that the nation-creating European masters really screwed up both the Middle East and Africa. These regions should re-draw their boundaries to more adequately represent their cultures and values.

Good post. Maybe a long way in the future, maybe never, but it is good to be talking about it.
