Meat is a high-energy, concentrated food. Just like gasoline is a high energy product. It takes many times more energy and resources to create the energy you get from meat, but you get more out of it per ounce eaten. But you get more energy out of a gallon of gas than other forms, and look at the damage that is doing to the planet. Meat has the same effect, on many bodies, and on the planet.
