OK. Well thought out and well written. However, some Black authors would call this a performance piece.

You mention Buttigieg and Klobuchar as two examples of White candidates who (apparently) were rejected by Black voters, because of their history re racism. Fine.

But how do you square that with Joe Biden? Joe was the author of the '94 crime bill that ruined the lives of an entire generation of Black men. He pushed through bankruptcy reform which made it harder to get protection for poor people. He completely mishandled the Anita Hill hearing. Joe Biden is no Black hero.

Yet it is Black voters in North Carolina who are most responsible for Biden being the Democratic candidate. Biden committed the same offenses for which you vilify White people in general. Yet Black voters overlooked his record and pushed him to the nomination.

There is a world of nuance in this whole issue that is being ignored for the ease and comfort of simple platitudes and the desire to appear woke, or even to genuinely become woke. What you said is true but, IMHO, a bit overstated and one-sided.
