Remember that when gays began to come out in force, there was a lot of homophobia expressed, mostly from the right. Now being around gay prople is just another "meh" situaton, except for the hard right evangelical moralists. Things look bad now for the trans cummunity, but if we don't put another tRump into office, this will fade over time.
