- you're kidding, right? I don't think I've ever heard any musician, when asked who was their biggest inspiration, say "The Monkees", nor has anyone asked if I wanted to listen to their collection of Monkees albums. Their music was cute, fun, catchy - but I would not call it good music, certainly not the best.
