Thanks for this. I am always on the alert to my own prejudices about Blacks and other minorities, so I am trying to absorb all the examples and put them in my “to not do” list. I went to a high school in a lower middle class area of LA. There were only about 5 Blacks in the entire school, although two brothers (in the family sense) were top-notch athletes and went on to play in the NFL. And I was friends with them and knew them for years, yet they never hung out with any of our white party-bro tribes. And I don’t recall ever saying racist things, but after listening to all the stories lately I would bet that I did, probably ignorantly if not intentionally, not knowing the pain I was causing.
