As to BLM, however, "all lives matter" is a pejorative - the term "Black Lives Matter", which actually stands for a movement, actually means "Black lives have not mattered, but SHOULD matter", not "only Black lives matter". The ALM chant is based on a gross misinterpretation of the BLM phrase, and is, for most who use it, deliberately intended to diminish BLM.
