There are different ways to measure income inequality. In terms of the Gini, the US is topped by only Chile and Mexico — if you want to hang your hat on the Pinochet leftovers and a country of drug cartels, have at it.

In terms of wealth, comparing the top 1% to the rest of the country (a more important measure), data is not available for every country, but for the OECD countries, the US is by far the most unequal, by nearly double.

You should reconsider your positions.
