This is how the God concept began - a series of unexplainable coincidences stirs up a sense of wonder, and for some reason the only reasonable explanation is a mystical divine intervention.

How would I explain what you experienced? Yes, exactly, as a series of coincidences. Chance. If these events are because of God's intervention, then all of the millions of times that people missed their flights or arrived late to pick up their passengers must mean that these people just didn't meet God's criteria for getting his help, or maybe God was mad at them. But God, for some reason, delayed the Rabbi's flight so that he wouldn't have to wait for you. Or was it the traffic so that you wouldn't have to wait. Either way there were a lot of people that were not happy with his actions. Somebody missed an important appointment.

You can believe that there is a God that intervenes in your life if it brings you peace, or confidence, or happiness. Belief comes from deep within, and most often without, or ignoring, any real evidence. Nothing wrong with that. Billions of Christians, Muslims, Hindus, and a multitude of other religions would agree with you, but with their own manifestations of God.
