This is silly. A non-issue not looking for a solution. Let me think of a few other abbreviations, all of whom are White as the driven snow:

JFK? LBJ? GWB? RBG? And I have yet to hear anybody complain about the use of MLK.

Note that of the other three "ethnic" members of "the squad", none are referred to by their acronyms. She is often called "AOC" because her full name has 11 syllables. And to just use her first name would be not only inaccurate, it would be presumptuous. Not to mention that most of us on the left consider it to be a term of endearment.
