We've enacted quite a few progressive policies that do work. Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, Unemployment Insurance, Workers Compensation, housing assistance, veterans assistance, public education, civil rights laws, voting rights laws, progressive taxes, to name a few.

Very few progressive policies have made it past Republican cockblockers since Ronald Reagan was elected, and many of our existing policies have been under relentless attack by conservatives and teabaggers/MAGAts ever since. It was progressive policies that created the first ever middle class in the history of the world, and it is conservative policies that have destroyed the middle class.
