You got it all figured out, don't you, kid? All the changes and failures you talk about have been part of our overall society. These affected us boomers, our parents, Gen X, and millenials, all of whom benefited from and also contributed to the consumer society.

Every lazy writer wants an easy subject. And guilt tripping is the easiest yet. But if you want to blame all of society's problems on one of its segments, it becomes a bit difficult. Can't blame race, or gender, or size, or education, because you yourself, or your friends or family, may be one of those. But generations, that is clear - if you were born after 1962, you can blame everything on your elders. Everything happened on their watch, so everything is their fault. Simple. Easy. And also lazy and cheap.
